WAITROSE and West Rugby Club will unveil the proposals for a new food store and all-weather pitch at Burnbrae, Milngavie, at public exhibitions next month.
They will showcase plans for a brand new shop to be developed on West’s existing pitch alongside Glasgow Road by the investment company Town Centre Securities PLC.
Around 180 jobs will be created if the development goes ahead, it has been claimed.
West said the development would deliver the financial investment they need to survive and prosper and will secure their future at Burnbrae.
A new all-weather pitch would also be constructed on scrub land behind the current score board, providing year-round training and playing facilities.
Members of the public will have a chance to meet with the project team, view an exhibition about the proposals and give their feedback.
Waitrose said they will use the comments gathered to shape the final designs for the new store.
A planning application is expected to be lodged with East Dunbartonshire Council later this year.
Make sure you get this week’s Milngavie and Bearsden Herald, which is in shops now, for more on this story and an exclusive look at Waitrose’s site plan.
