KEEN walkers and climbers in Bearsden and Milngavie are being urged to conquer their favourite peak this summer for WaterAid.
The international charity is calling on people of all levels to conquer (or re-conquer) their favourite local mountain and raise vital funds to provide clean water and sanitation to rural communities in Nepal.
Over 2,000 walkers will be taking part in the 2013 WaterAid200 challenge on June 8 which aims to put a different team on top of 200 different mountains in the UK and Ireland while raising over £200,000.
The peaks have been selected by WaterAid supporters and include those in Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Teams can enjoy the stunning views from Ben Lomond, Scotland’s southernmost Munro, or more experienced climbers can take on the magnificent An Caisteal peak on the eastern side of Glen Falloch.
