A RETIRED head teacher has spoken of her sadness at the sudden death of one of her former pupils.
Scott Stirling (31) died in suspicious circumstances on Saturday, May 26, when his body was found floating in the Allander in Milngavie, near the start of the West Highland Way.
Mystery surrounds his death and police are still investigating.
In a letter to the Herald, Christine Reid – formerly the head teacher at Milngavie Primary – expresses her sadness and shock at Mr Stirling’s untimely death.
She recalled the “twinkle in his eye” and his “wry smile.”
Mr Stirling was brought up in Milngavie and as well as the local primary, he also attended Douglas Academy.
It is understood he had been living in Glasgow before his death and that his parents still live locally.
A spokesperson for Strathclyde Police said: “We await the results of tests and our investigations are ongoing”.
