The umbrella organisation set up to promote Milngavie town centre - Milngavie BID Company - has an exciting programme of events in the run-up to Christmas.
Although many of the activities have yet to be finalised, a broad programme of events has now been laid out - with plenty more exciting announcements to come.
The most important of these is the Christmas lights switch-on in Milngavie Precinct, which will take place on Friday, November 21. The person switching on the lights has still to be confirmed, but according to Milngavie BID manager, Lesley Shaw, it will be confirmed within the next week.
The festive magic will continue on Saturday with bands and a choir to entertain the crowds in the town centre.
Mrs Shaw said: “This will be the first Christmas event the BID company has organised and we are wanting to make it an event that will showcase what the community can do when it comes together.
“We are all very excited about it, although there is still quite a lot of organisation to do to bring it all together. We do, however, have a framework of events planned out that we are sure will be very family centred.”
The fun will continue on Saturday with a Santa’s Grotto in the Youth Centre sure to be popular with children in the run-up to the festive season.
Milngavie BID company is still looking for local entertainers to get involved, or for people to run workshops on the Saturday.
Mrs Shaw added: “This year’s Christmas spectacle is definitely an event not to be missed. People can contact me or Leanne on 07523958440 or email Lesley.firstname.lastname@example.org”
