Police are hunting thieves who made off with a high-value car after breaking into a house overnight.

The robbers entered the property in Lochend Crescent, Bearsden, in the early hours of Tuesday, May 31, through an open window.

They stole the car keys of the family’s Audi A1 worth £25,000 and drove off in the vehicle.

A police spokesman at Kirkintilloch is warning people to make sure their homes are secure during the warm summer weather.

He said: “Don’t let the heatwave become a crimewave. Make sure your windows and doors are locked.”
