There’s loads to do in Bearsden and Milngavie over the summer holidays

THERE is no need for kids in Milngavie and Bearsden to be bored this summer thanks to a fantastic line-up of free fun workshops.

The project of events for 12 to 16 year olds is being run by one of Scotland’s leading charities for children and adults with learning difficulties and their carers - ENABLE Scotland.

Young people will be able to try their hand at a range of activities including drama, rock school, football, street dance, animation, filmmaking and manga in venues throughout the area, including Bearsden, Bishopbriggs, Twechar, Lenzie and Kirkintilloch.

Free transport will be available from set pick up points and all sessions will run from 10am to 3pm.

ENABLE Scotland are also offering fun daily trips for young people during the weeks of July 2 to 9 including go karting, laser quest, strawberry picking, a cycle around Millport and a visit to the Edinburgh Dungeons.

Participants do not need any experience and all levels will be catered for. The workshops will be run by industry experts including professional street dance company BKS Crew, theatre company FF Productions, rock musician Jonny Parr and the world finalist cheerleading squad JC Pompoms.

This has all been funded by Better Breaks, and is supported by East Dunbartonshire Council and at the end of the summer there will be an opportunity for the young people who took part to demonstrate the new skills they have honed at a showcase event.
