FARMERS are being warned to properly secure their property after a spate of thefts from agricultural premises in West Stirlingshire.
Constable David Mcnally from Balfron Police Office, said: “In recent months a tractor was stolen from the Kippen area, a number of tools were taken from a farm in the Balfron area and a Land Rover was stolen from a farm near Aberfoyle.
“These thefts are occuring overnight and farmers are advised to lock and secure all property when not in use, particularly at night time.
“A male has been charged with three recent thefts from a farm in Balfron. The stolen Land Rover was recovered in the area of Gartinstarry west of Buchlyvie.
“We’d urge anyone with information about these crimes to contact Balfron Police Office on 01877 330222 as soon as possible.”
