Milngavie Town Hall was the scene of rowdy and raucous behaviour on a Saturday night when a disco got ‘‘out of control’’ and had to be stopped by the police.

Trouble broke out within the hall on a Saturday night during a dance and it ended up with police intervention and the ‘‘premature termination’’ of the let.

It was understood several acts of vandalism were carried out in the hall and several windows were smashed.

District Council superintendent Alex Brown said things had got ‘‘a bit out of hand’’.

He said: ‘‘There was damage to the ladies toilets including broken windows, a cloakroom door was broken and there was general rowdiness.’’
