A FAMILY with disabled children escaped injury when their bedroom ceiling fell in after last week’s storm.
Gale force winds blew off the chimney and wrecked the roof of the house Paula Dickson shares with her mum Isobel, her sister Susan and two neices in Ashburn Gardens, Milngavie.
A massive crack appeared in the ceiling of a bedroom the kids were meant to be sleeping in. The children suffer from sodium valproute syndrome and the youngest, 18 month-old Lisa, is underweight and doesn’t grow properly while the older one, Grace (6) also has spina bifida.
Concerned that the roof might collapse, they called the council, but were told by an official that the bedroom was safe to use.
However, thankfully they did not take his advice and stayed out - because that night the roof came in.
