The Christmas Tree Festival came back to Milngavie after a year’s absence - this is the eighth one that’s been held in St Paul’s Church.

It was organised, as before, by the Association of Milngavie Churches. The official opening was held on Saturday, December 3 and ran until today (Friday, December 9).

Three charities have been chosen to receive money raised by the event: Carers Link, Milngavie, which supports carers of all ages, Clober Farm Spinal Injuries Unit (in Milngavie) which provides respite for sufferers and their families, and the Prison Fellowship Angel Tree Project which gives Christmas presents to children whose parents are in prison.

Over 30 trees have been decorated by a wide range of local organisations, and a varied musical programme was provided throughout the Festival by musicians of all ages, there was also a tea room with home baking.
