Singer-songwriter Yvonne plays Milngavie gig

Scottish Singer/Songwriter Yvonne Lyon is appearing at The Milngavie Folk Club, The Fraser Centre, Douglas Street on Saturday, June 22.

She is among the best and brightest emerging talent currently from Scotland.

Her new album, More Than Mine, combines poignant lyrics with strong, creative melodies, demonstrating a voice that can be both fragile and intense.

She has consistently drawn and stirred crowds across the UK with her emotive performances.

Yvonne has shared the stage with the likes of Patti Griffin, Karine Polwart, Luka Bloom, Steve Forbert and toured the UK with Juliet Turner, and recently Boo Hewerdine.

In 2009 Yvonne won the Burnsong International Songwriting Competition and sung her winning song All Is Not Lost at the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh.

She has enjoyed television appearances on BBC 1, BBC Alba. Yvonne has also had the privilege of 2 sessions and interviews with Bob Harris playing three songs live on BBC Radio 2.

Most recently Yvonne secured a position on BBC Radio Scotland’s playlist with her new single The Coffee Song as well as being nominated songwriter of the the week.

She is currently performing and promoting her new album More Than Mine across the UK.
