Staff at Oxfam on Main Street, Milngavie, are joining in with the spirit of things and celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. They have decorated the shop window with Union Jack bunting and flags and are displaying and selling red, white and blue outfits along with books about the Royals, formal hats and tea sets. The manager, Christine Scott (right) is with volunteer staff (left to right) Emma Jayne Crookston, Lynda Leask and Alison MacIver. She said: “You’ve got to take part and join in the spirit of the occasion.

“Things in the window have been selling fast and people have even been asking if we have Union Jack bunting and flags for sale so I’ve sold any that we had left over.

“We’ve had a very good response from customers - many of them have said they will be celebrating at home with family and friends or they will go to an event.

“It’s something a bit different and I think it’s going to be fun.”

If you have any Royal paraphernalia to hand in to the shop please drop it in between 9am and 5pm. (Ref: m20849) Picture: EMMA MITCHELL
