EXCITEMENT is building up in the run up to an all human circus coming to Milngavie next month for the first time ever.
Big Kid Circus has been touring throughout the UK for the past seven years, making regular trips to Scotland, and its new fast paced show will be in Milngavie at the West of Scotland Football Club on Glasgow Road from July 16 to 22 and we have a set of family tickets to giveaway to see the show while it’s here.
It features artists from Russia, Ukraine, Morocco, Bulgaria and Wales, many of whom are appearing in the UK for the first time.
Russell Johnson, circus manager, said: “We aim to provide a show that has appeal for all ages, is enjoyed by everyone, whatever their abilities, and to send all our customers away with a smile on their faces.
“There will be one performance on our first day, and two shows each day thereafter, with each one lasting around one hour and forty five minutes.
“We can offer you the opportunity to have your picture taken in the circus, buy souvenirs and enjoy some of our refreshments.
“We must warn you though - our clowns are always looking for volunteers to help them with their mad ideas, so watch out for them heading in your direction.”
They strive to combine traditional circus skills with a modern, fast-paced style, and this year they are proud to present stunning acrobats from Morocco, the Duo Morocco, who will amaze everyone with their fire and balance acts.
Later, Duo Leoampa from Bulgaria will be performing on the Wheel of Death high above the ring, presenting their juggling and rola-rola acts, with a special appearance from Mr Slinky.
Duo Adaje from Morocco wil also perform, with spectacular balance acts on the ground and in the air, Lyudmila from Ukraine with her foot-juggling and ariel ring acts, Duo Mylnikov from Ukraine, with a variety of hilarious comedy presentations and Trio Russe from Russia, presenting acrobatic, dance and comedy.
All of this is presented by Ashley, the ring mistress from Wales, while Bili and Kiril, who comes from a long line of circus artists, run the show, helped by their son David, and daughter Julia.
