Youngsters from Milngavie Primary were given the chance to question their local MP during a recent school visit.
Jo Swinson, the LibDem MP for East Dunbartonshire, met with the P6 class to help them with their current topic on local government.
The children gained an insight into the role of a Westminster politician and life in the public domain.
Fresh from her appearance on the panel of Thursday’s BBC Question Time, Ms Swinson took questions from the pupils on topics from the Allander to universities and solar energy.
The MP also admired the pupils’ work on a project where they each selected a politician to complete a poster presentation on. She is with P6 pupil Tom Raeside who had chosen Ms Swinson to feature in his work.
She said: “It’s always a real pleasure to meet East Dunbartonshire’s young people, and the pupils at Milngavie Primary were no exception.
“I was happy to be able to offer an insight into life as an MP as part of their current studies, and it was great to take their questions on both local and national issues.”
