PUPILS at Bearsden Academy have voted to strike in support of their teachers on Wednesday.
Thousands of teachers in the UK are going to take industrial action over changes to their pensions and Glasgow School Students Union has voted to back them.
Over 100 members of the GSSU in East Dunbartonshire will not cross teachers’ picket lines on the nationwide day of action.
Ross Greer, Member of the Scottish Youth Parliament for Milngavie and branch convener, said: “We are not prepared to go in with a business as usual attitude as our teachers are out fighting for their futures and their profession. Our members are not prepared to cross picket lines manned by the people who dedicate their lives to us. We are proud to be supporting our teachers.“
