A newspaper advert for a job at Gartnavel General Hospital that caused controversy has been withdrawn.
The NHS hospital on Great Western Road, Glasgow, advertised a vacancy for the post of theatre nursing support worker.
It warned applicants about “complaints from irate surgeons due to the pressures and constraints of the environment”.
Interested parties were also told they risked dealing with “verbal and physical aggressive behaviour from patients” under the influence of drugs, alcohol or anaesthetic.
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde confirmed the advert had now been removed. A spokesman for NHSGGC said: “This job description appears to have been written as a practical joke and unfortunately slipped through our HR checks before being posted.”
