Police are investigating after car was set on fire in a deliberate attack.

The attack took place at about 2am on Saturday, June 25, when a car was targeted in the driveway of a house in Bothlyn Road, Chryston.

As a result of this action another vehicle was also significantly damaged and police this week launched an appeal for witnesses.

Detective Sergeant Peter Lennon, from Coatbridge CID said: “We are looking to speak to the occupants of a dark coloured motor vehicle seen near the fire raising on the night in question or any other members of the public who may have information relating to this enquiry.

“Fortunately no persons were injured as result of this deliberate act, however local residents were extremely shocked and alarmed by the events.”
