Police are appealing for help from the public, particularly people who travel by bus, to help find an elderly woman who is missing.

Janet McKay (88) was last seen at 12pm yesterday by her neighbours in Dykebar Avenue, Knightswood in Glasgow.

She is around 4ft 10ins tall, of slight build with short grey/white hair. She is believed to be wearing a light cream coloured jacket with a hood, dark trousers, dark maroon boots and carrying a brown handbag and a carrier bag.

Although Janet lives in Knightswood, she is known to travel on the bus around the area and has links to Scotstoun, Glasgow City Centre and Govan.

Janet suffers from dementia and her family and police are becoming increasing concerned for her safety and wellbeing.

Anyone who has seen her since lunchtime yesterday or anyone who knows of her present whereabouts is asked to contact police via 101.
