A plea has gone out to help find a much-loved pet cat who has gone missing from his home in Kirkintilloch.

Casper vanished from his home at Birdston in the town on Sunday, July 3.

The Glasgow branch of Cats Protection posted the appeal on its Facebook site.

It said the two-year-old, outdoor, tabby male cat loved going for his daily wander but he wasn’t in the habit of going out for long or far from home.

He is microchipped and not wearing a collar and was last seen on the Sunday afternoon.

It added, if you live in Birdston would you please check your garages, huts and any outbuildings that are around your property just to make sure he has not managed to slip in and made a temporary residence without you knowing.

If you recognise Casper or have any information with regards to his whereabouts please contact the Glasgow branch on 0345 371 2722, email cpglasgow@googlemail.com or send a private message.
