A concerned resident has started a petition against the council’s plans for a new Bearsden hub in Bearsden Burgh Hall.

Meg Macfarlane said: “Having attended all three of their ‘drop-in’ meetings, viewed plans, listened to council representatives and having lengthy and somewhat unsatisfactory conversations with councillors I have now started a petition against the proposals.

“There are so many people in this community who are simply appalled at the council decisions and the lack of consideration to their complaints and concerns.

“Most have absolutely no wish for a HUB at Bearsden Cross or, they know nothing of the plans for same. The fact that this ‘HUB’ will facilitate the sell-off of community assets again, (Brookwood Library and the Registry Office on Roman Road) is also concerning.”
