THE RAINY weather this summer has created a problem for keen gardeners throughout the area - but we are sure that they have risen to the challenge.
Milngavie and Bearsden is full of very capable gardeners and in recognition of this we have decided to run our popular gardening competition again this year to reward their efforts.
Despite a lack of sunshine we are hoping for a bright start to our Top Garden Competition - which we are sure will attract as many fantastic entries as last year.
You can nominate your own garden, a neighbour’s, a friend or a relative’s.
The competition is sponsored by Caulders garden centre, Mugdock Counrty Park, who have put up some super prizes for our winners.
First prize is £50 worth of vouchers for Caulders plus a garden essentials gift box with a £30 voucher going to the runner-up and third prize is a £20 voucher.
We will arrange to take photographs of the nominated gardens and judges will visit to make final selections.
A representative of Milngavie in Bloom, who do a fantastic job in helping to keep the town looking good, will help with the judging.
On the launch of the Herald competition, Colin Barrie, said: “Caulders are delighted to sponsor the Top Garden Competition.
“This area is renowned for its beautiful gardens and last year’s entries were outstanding.
“Local people take a lot of pride in their gardens and as we are a local family business we are delighted to showcase that and reward them for all their hard work.”
All you need to do is complete the nomination form and send it to us at Top Garden Competition, Milngavie and Bearsden Herald, 27 Stewart Street, Milngavie, G62 6BW.
