TheMugdock Trust has received a boost from the historic Order of St John.

A cheque for £500 to enhance disabled access to Mugdock Park was presented to the Trust at the AGM of St John Dunbartonshire — which has a Bearsden and Milngavie committee — at the Royal Northern and Clyde Yacht Club in Rhu on Thursday evening.

The county chairman, Wing Commander George Campbell, OBE, OStJ, DL, and the Bearsden and Milngavie convener for St John Dunbartonshire, Tom Downs OStJ, presented the cheque to Trust director Ian Arnott. It brings the total donated to Mugdock by the Order in the past six years to £4,100.

Mr Arnott said: “This has been the country park’s busiest year ever. Each year hundreds of people use our mobility aids — including three motorised scooters and 13 specially designed wheelchairs — because they enable them to navigate our countryside walks, and they have all been provided by the Order.”
