NTS centre launches winter season with film archive gems

The Bearsden & Milngavie Members’ Centre of the National Trust for Scotland winter programme kicks off this month with many interesting talks and outings.

The first of these is a talk entitled ‘Scottish Film Archive’ with Ruth Washbrook.

In addition to various pieces on the West of Scotland, everyone will also see the Bennie Railplane in action and the Hugh Fraser wedding at Mugdock in 1960.

This event on September 24 at 7.30pm in Milngavie town hall is free to members of the group and £3 for non members.

Spokesperson Ann MacLeod, said: “We are a large friendly lively group which loves to promote our National and natural heritage.”

Advance notice - their first outing is to see Costumes & Colour 1800-1899 at Kelvingrove Art Gallery in Glasgow’s west end.

There will be a guided tour by Rebecca Quinton the curator and lunch. Cost £17. This must be booked in advance. Call Sandra Cunningham on 07854124927.
