THE High School of Glasgow class diary:

Sports Fixtures, Saturday - cricket: 1st XI 3rd year A, 2nd year B, 1st year B, Transitus B (A) 2nd XI, 3rd year B, 2nd year A, 1st year A, Transitus A (H) v Stewart’s Melville College. Athletics: S1 – S3 girls (H) v Glasgow Academy.

Pupils will be competing at the Youth Speaks UK Final, in Wrexham, during the day.

Tuesday - S5 & S6 receive their Final SQA exam briefing in the morning. Transitus – S6 girls play tennis v Glasgow Academy (H/A) after school.

Wednesday - pupils have a golf match v St Aloysius’ College, at Milngavie GC in the afternoon.

Thursday - there’s a Transitus S6 Boys tennis fixture v Jordanhill in the afternoon.

Friday - S3 exams in the morning and J6 A & B teams play cricket v Glasgow Academy (A) in the afternoon.

THE High School of Glasgow Junior School class diary:

Generation Science will hold workshops with various classes throughout the week.

Monday - Make a Move’ with Junior 6; Wednesday - Fur, Feather, Skin and Scales with Junior 4 and Little Giants with Junior 2; Thursday - Body Builders with Junior 6; Friday – Lego Mindstorms with Junior 5. Bruce Jamieson will give a talk on The Romans to Junior 3 in the afternoon. Junior 6 will continue cycling proficiency after school.

Friday - there will be a ships quiz for Junior 1-3 in the morning and Junior 4-6 in the afternoon.

Balfron High

ON Sunday, April 2 at Ingliston equestrian centre, Bishopton, the national schools equestrian association held its annual competition.

Balfron’s team was made up of India Pemberton-Pigott, Rebecca Duncan, Sarah Burkhill, Gemma Martin, Lauren Dempsey, Eva Sheppard, Lauren Aitchison and Kirsty Findlay and organised by Mhairi Willison. Everyone who took part represented the school well and kept the Balfron flag flying high.

The results: dressage - the team of Lauren Aitchison, Kirsty Findlay, Rebecca Duncan and India Pemberton-Pigott were placed 1st. Showjumping - Rebecca Duncan was 2nd and Sarah Burkhill was 3rd in the 70cm class, Lauren Dempsey was 1st in the 80cm class, Eva Sheppard was 3rd in the 90cm class and Lauren Dempsey was 6th. The team of Eva Sheppard, Lauren Dempsey, Kirsty Findlay and Gemma Martin was placed 1st, Eva Sheppard was 3rd and Kirsty Findlay was 4th in the 1m class.
