JUNIOR 2 took part in a Jenga challenge recently.

They competed against each other in their school houses - making as many successful moves as possible without any blocks falling down.

Junior 4 have been working hard on their recycling topic.

They visited Tesco in Milngavie to discover how and what they recycle, watched a video and investigated the back area of the supermarket.

Pupils also had a visit from Bobby McCulloch from land and environmental services at Glasgow City Council who spoke to them about the problems we face today if we do not learn to recycle regularly.

He showed them a huge landfill site near Glasgow and how to recycle household goods such as plastic bottles, paper, glass and garden refuse.

The pupils agreed it was a really fascinating day which helped them pay more attention to what they throw away.

Finally, the class performed songs and raps at a recycling assembly to a captive audience which included their parents and family and they took part in a ‘Trashion Show’ - acting out a play which took place in their own imaginary town called ‘Recycleville’.

Kelvinside Academy’s Assessment Day for P2-P6 will be held on Tuesday. Assessments for nursery and P1 will be held throughout January.
