DRYMEN -Drymen Women’s Rural Institute’s AGM will be held on May 10 - members are asked to bring some food along for the buffet supper.

The competitions for the evening are - individual sweet and greetings card - any craft.

Killearn

KILLEARN Horticultural Society and Killearn Friends of Guiding hold a coffee morning and plant sale in the church hall on Saturday, May 12 from 10am to midday.

Go along and buy from their large selection of locally grown plants both perennial and bedding all at bargain prices.

There will be coffee and lovely cakes, entry costs £2.

Strathblane

THE Casino Royale charity fundraiser will be held in the Scout Hall on Saturday, May 12 at 5.30pm.

Please speak to Blanefield Thistle Football Team or Strathblane Out of School Care if you would like a ticket. BYOB and a bar will be available.

THERE will be a garden open day in aid of Strathendrick Pipe Band and All Saints Episcopal Church on Saturday, May 12 from 1pm to 4pm. There will be piping, plants and teas at 9 Campsie Road, entry costs £4.

STRATHBLANE Bridge Club held its annual dinner on Thursday, April 26 at Strathblane Country Hotel.

After the meal the evening’s bridge results were; 1st N/S Eileen Lindsay and Patsy Muir-Simpson, 2nd Margaret Chrystie and Sheila Gilbert, 1st E/W Anne Ryan and Norrie Holmes, 2nd Peter and Joyce Shaw.
