Killearn

KILLEARN Bridge Club results for Tuesday, November 1 (Pens) are – 1st Donald Kennedy & Eileen Lindsay, 2nd Jim & Maureen McKeand, 3rd Beth Farish & Judith Townson.

KILLEARN Community Council - the next meeting will be held on Wednesday at 8pm in the primary school.

Stirling Council’s proposed local development plan, which details four sites of potential development in Killearn, will be a very important item on the agenda.

There will be an opportunity to find out more about the plan at a drop-in session, hosted by Stirling Council, in the village hall on Friday, December 2 between 3pm and 9pm.

Members of the Community Council attended a severe weather seminar, organised by Stirling Council, at the beginning of November and will report back to the meeting on the 16th.

All local residents will be very welcome.

Balfron

FRIENDS of Art in Balfron’s new adult craft group is holding it’s second session in Balfron Church Halls on Monday between 9.30am and midday.

This time everyone will be designing block prints to make individual pieces of artwork.

BALFRON Primary Parents’ Council is holding a winter fair in the McLintock Hall from 7 till 9.45pm on Friday, November 25.

There will be loads of stalls featuring local busineses, cakes and mulled wine. Entrance costs £2.

BLANE Valley Allotments Group is going to hold an open public meeting tomorrow (Saturday) between 2pm and 4pm in the Village Club.

All are welcome to go along to ask questions and hear of the group’s current plans.

STRATHBLANE Tennis Club - get five of your smartest friends together and pit your wits against all comers at a quiz night on Saturday, November 26 in the Village Club.

You may not yet be “Brains of Britain” but you can surely be the brains of Blanefield by the end of the evening.

THE Village Club Centenary Celebration is on Saturday, November 19 from 7.30pm.

This music night will be featuring, among others The Wizney Mees, Sheila Hall Folk, The Buffs and many more.

THE Reading Group meets on Tuesday at 8pm in the library. The book under discussion this month is The Elegance of the Hedgehog.
