THE small children’s play park at Mugdock Country Park is now closed until early April while a new play park and woodland trail is being built on the same site.
Park manager Iain Arnott said: “We appreciate that the temporary loss of this play park is unfortunate but it cannot be avoided.
“The play area has been planned for some time now and we are very grateful to Mugdock joint management committee including East Dunbartonshire and Stirling Council for continuing to show their support and investment into the park. This is fantastic news.
“The existing children’s play area is around 20 years old and it’s great to get the opportunity to completely refurbish it.
“The new play experience will be larger than before and include traditional play items as well as a woodland trail.
“We’d ask visitors to be patient while the work is underway and although the old play area will be closing for three months we would hope that the new experience will be rewarding.
“Visiting families can still enjoy our family trails throughout the year. Details are available at the countryside office and Stables Gift Shop.”
