A pioneering website which aims to be the first stop for information and advice on dementia in East Dunbartonshire has been launched.

The East Dunbartonshire Dementia Network Partnership website has been designed to cater for people with dementia, carers and families, local community groups and businesses, as well as being used for staff learning, development and research.

It is the first example of a Dementia Partnership website in Scotland.

East Dunbartonshire Dementia Network is a forum that brings together groups, organisations and members of the community committed to improving the lives of people with dementia, their families and carers.

The website was co-developed and co-produced with people living with dementia, carers, Dementia Network partners East Dunbartonshire Council, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Ceartas, Alzheimer Scotland and Carers Link.

Paul Peter, operational manager at Carers Link, said: “The Dementia Network website is an invaluable resource to carers in East Dunbartonshire. It has all the information that they need to inform and support them through the caring journey. It highlights the breadth of support that is available to people in the area and enables other organisations and professionals to access the information they need to support the people they work with.”

Councillor Michael O’Donnell, convener of the council’s social work committee, added: “The website is a fantastic resource and will provide invaluable help to people living with dementia, their carers and families.”
