MSP backs Yes Campaign on Scottish independence

BEARSDEN MSP Fiona McLeod has spoken out in suport of the Yes Campaign for Scottish independence, which was recently launched in Edinburgh.

There was support from across the political spectrum with speakers from all the major parties and from those with no party affiliation.

Scotland’s national Makar Liz Lochead spoke passionately about what independence means to her, as did actors Alan Cumming and Brian Cox.

Ms McLeod said: “Every nationalist in the country has been waiting for this day to arrive – when we set aside party politics and take up the cause of making Scotland independent once again. I have waited all my adult life for this opportunity – never has the country been as ready as it is now to declare its Sovereignty.

“I have signed the Declaration of Independence on the campaign website www.YesScotland.net or you can complete and return one of the declaration cards I have and will be giving out to the public over coming weeks with local Yes activists. On the first day there were 3,000 signatures, that number has swollen to over 10,000 now - that’s incredible!”
