Local MP John Nicolson visited East Dunbartonshire Women’s Aid last week to launch his Christmas Gift Appeal.

He is asking kind-hearted constituents to donate toys or gifts such as stuffed toys, games, toiletries, footballs or chocolate.

Mr Nicolson said: “For many women who’ve taken refuge with East Dunbartonshire Women’s Aid it’s a struggle to make ends meet. There is no spare cash for their children’s Christmas presents.

“We want to help. So we’re collecting children’s presents to give this Christmas. If you’d like to donate presents can be handed in to my constituency office 15 Townhead, Kirkintilloch.”

All gifts should be new and unwrapped. They can be handed into Mr Nicolson’s constituency office at 15 Townhead, Kirkintilloch, G66 1NG between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. If you would like to donate a gift and require assistance to get it to the office you can phone on 0141 775 3338 and his staff will be happy to help.
