FAMILY and friends enjoyed a great musical evening at the Bearsden and Milngavie Youth Orchestra’s Christmas concert at Bearsden Burgh Hall.
The four orchestras played a wide variety of music with many highlights, including the string orchestra’s atmospheric Jasmine Flower, the wind ensemble’s lively Ranger Rock, the concert orchestra’s mystical Marche Slave and the symphony orchestra’s enchanting The Lark Ascending with guest violin soloist Laura McKinlay.
The concert and symphony orchestras combined to get everyone in to the festive spirit with a wonderful Sleigh Ride.
An orchestra spokeswoman said: “Well done to all the children and the conductors.
“Thanks to everyone who helped, Carol for the catering and all those who donated prizes for the raffle including Cumbernauld Theatre, Brasserie 19, Las Ramblas, Cyan, Virgin Active, Bearsden Ski Club and Haydock Music.”
If anyone aged eight to 18 would like to join the orchestra, they meet on Thursdays from 7 till 8.30pm in Douglas Academy.
