Neighbours are getting fed up of a tenant in Dougalston Gardens South, Milngavie, who they say is behaving anti-socially.

The residents allege that the house is being used for multiple occupancy - with at least four men living in the two bedroom house.

They also claim that they make a noise late at night and cause a disturbance to others living in the street - which is mainly occupied by young families.

One resident, who asked not to be named, said: “We’ve complained to the factor Gordon Shields and so far they have done nothing about it.

“The council is investigating but our worry is that they will be allowed to stay until the end of their lease which would mean they stay until November.

“We’d like them to be removed sooner than that, we shouldn’t have to put up with anti-social behaviour on our street.”

The Milngavie and Bearsden Herald asked Gordon Shields for a comment but they declined.

Thomas Glen, East Dunbartonshire Council’s depute chief executive of place, neighbourhood & corporate assets, said: “We are looking into an enquiry raised by a member of the public regarding the status of a privately rented property in Dougalston Gardens South in Milngavie.”
