Milngavie Community Fire Station is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a dance to mark the occasion.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) officers are keen for anyone who has a connection to the station to get in touch with them and join the many current and former personnel attending the festivities on Friday, September 12.
Station manager Steven Harper said: “Reaching 40 years as an operational fire station is a landmark moment .
“We’re keen for everyone who has worked here to join us in marking it.
“All the proceeds from the dance will go to charities chosen by the personnel serving here today.
“Our own SFRS Family Support Trust is close to many of us. Since 1923 it’s been helping fire service personnel, retired members and their families through times of hardship.
“The other main beneficiary will be the charity Gal Gael, which works in one of the most deprived areas of Glasgow to give people the chance to learn new skills in woodcraft.
“It will be great to see so many people who have played their part in the station’s history back on the night.
“I’d encourage anyone who has a connection to Milngavie Community Fire Station to get in touch with us as soon as possible and buy a ticket.”
Running from 7.30pm to 11.30pm, the anniversary celebration includes a disco, a bar and light snacks.
Tickets cost just £5 and are available by calling Milngavie Community Fire Station on 0141 956 2223.
