Milngavie and Bearsden folk urged to help vulnerable children in the New Year

THE NSPCC, which protects children from abuse and maltreatment, needs volunteers for a variety of roles in 2013.

You could do your bit by giving presentations to primary school pupils to educate them about keeping safe, answer children’s cries for help from their ChildLine bases in Glasgow and Aberdeen or raise funds to support their services.

Matt Forde, head of NSPCC Scotland services, said: “No matter how much time or experience you have, we have a volunteering opportunity to suit everyone. We would encourage anyone who is interested, whether to fill some free time or to get experience in a chosen field, to put finding out more about our work to the top of their New Year agenda.

“We give volunteers full training and ongoing support.”
