A BEARSDEN dad is undertaking a dangerous aid mission to Palestine - a year after he was savagely beaten by Israeli commandos while on another mercy trip.
Dr Hasan Nowarah (46) left as part of a road convoy taking supplies to besieged communities in Gaza on Sunday.
Last year he was part of a flotilla which was attacked by Israeli soldiers in international waters, leaving scores injured and nine people dead.
Before setting off, the dad of five said he was unconcerned for his personal safety, claiming he is prepared to perish for the Palestinian cause.
He told the Herald: “I desire to die with dignity and to try to help my people is an honour.”
