A festive boost was delivered to a great cause recently thanks to the kindness of everyone involved in a recent successful charity event.

The East Dunbartonshire Provost’s Ladies’ Lunch in November raised a total of £3,000 - to be split between St Margaret of Scotland Hospice and Cash for Kids.

East Dunbartonshire Provost Una Walker recently presented a cheque for £1,500 to the hospice’s Chief Executive, Sister Rita MBE.

More than 130 ladies attended the event at the Oregano restaurant, in Bishopbriggs, which included lunch, raffles, auctions and more.

Provost Walker said: “I was delighted to meet Sister Rita recently to hand over a cheque for £1,500 - raised through the generosity of all involved in the recent ladies’ lunch.

“Thanks again to everyone who supported the annual event.

“You have helped to make a difference to two tremendous good causes.

“I know the vital work undertaken by the hospice and I’m delighted that the ladies’ lunch has helped to deliver a festive boost for such a wonderful cause.

“Many thanks once again to all involved and hope to see you at the ladies’ lunch in 2016.”
