A Strathblane student has helped to make an interactive model of Dunfermline Abbey that is scheduled to be installed at the Fife landmark before the end of the year.

John Boyle, who is studying for an HND in model making at City of Glasgow College, will bring the history of the Abbey to life with a 3D scale replica made of acrylic that will track the changing face of one of Scotland’s most important cultural sites through the centuries.

John has been working with Alex Thomson on the rotation devices for the model, making sure it works smoothly and meets al of the safety constraints needed for it be safe around children when the model is available to the public.

The project is scheduled to be fully completed later in the year.
