Allander Rotary Club held ‘Rotary Youth Speaks’, which is open to teams from secondary schools in the area, in Bearsden Academy last week.
A spokesperson said: “The level of speaking was very high quality.”
Boclair Academy won intermediate stage with their topic ‘Great Britain - the best country in the world’ and The High School of Glasgow won senior stage with the topic ‘The Commonwealth - a way forward’. They both now progress to the Rotary West of Scotland District finals in February.
Allander Rotary Club’s annual sportsmans dinner is on February 27 to raise funds for CHAS, Kidney Kids Scotland, Milngavie Youth Centre and Rotary Shelter Box Relief.
