Companies that go the extra mile to help good causes are to be recongnised at a special showcase for high-flying firms and entrepreneurs.
Nominations are being sought for local charities and community groups to receive a funding boost at the inaugural East Dunbartonshire Business Awards.
Organisers at the council need your help to identify the most deserving causes doing great work at the heart of local communities.
Last year’s East Dunbartonshire Charity Dinner - hosted by Council Leader Rhondda Geekie - raised a significant sum for local good causes.
This year it has been decided to incorporate the fundraising event into the programme for the East Dunbartonshire Business Awards night.
There will be 10 chances for local firms to come out on top, with judging now underway.
The awards will be handed out on May 9 at The Eagle Lodge, Bishopbriggs.
However, a key part of the evening will be the raising of funds for a variety of local charities and organisations.
Nominations can be made by e-mailed to email@example.com.
Nominees can include organisations or charities working on behalf of children, the elderly, people with additional support needs, the environment, unemployed and young entrepreneurs.
Council Leader Rhondda Geekie said: “The awards night will be a very special occasion which will celebrate local success stories and also highlight the excellent work being done by charities and organisations in East Dunbartonshire.
“The fundraising dinner is always a worthwhile event - and a tremendous example of local businesses’ continuing support for good causes across the area.”
And councillor Gheekie added: “I’m sure that will be the case again this year and I’m always gratified by the generosity of local businesses, which not only provide employment and local investment - but are also committed to supporting good causes in East Dunbartonshire.
“I hope that people seize the chance to nominate a local charity or organisation to receive funds.
“We are looking for a variety of charities, organisations and unsung heroes who are helping to change the lives of people in East Dunbartonshire for the better.”
Sponsors include Exchange Communications, Aldermore Bank, 365 Recovery, Business Gateway and East Dunbartonshire Voluntary Action.
