Four careworkers from Mugdock Care Home - plus a friend - are set to walk the 96 mile West Highland Way in just four days.
Arlene Harrison from Milngavie, colleagues Stephen Jefferson, Scott Mulheron, Yvonne Richards and friend Gillian McCulloch, also from Milngavie will set off on Friday, May 2 and are hoping to average just under 25 miles a day.
It normally takes most walkers between five to seven days to complete the walk.
The group is raising money for Alzheimer Scotland and the care home in Bearsden. The money for the home will go towards creating an outdoor forest walk through a woodland area at the back for residents.
Arlene said: “It was my workmate Stephen who came up with the idea and he has set up a JustGiving page for donations.
“We hope to create a tranquil seating area among the trees for resident’s loved ones to take them walking and spend quality time with them outdoors so it will.”
And on the walk, Arlene joked: “We need to finish the walk in four days because we all need to be back at work on Tuesday. Everyone is well up for the challenge of doing approximately 24 miles a day - while camping at various locations along the way.”
