Volunteer call up for Commonwealth Games

ALMOST 15,000 volunteers are needed for next year’s Commonwealth Games when it come to Glasgow.

It will be the biggest civilian mobilisation of people for a single cause since The Second World War, but applicants have less than seven week’s to apply online at www.glasgow2014/volunteer.

The online applications opened on Monday with all forms to be completed by Thursday February 28.

No previous experience is necessary for the majority of roles with the emphasis on finding people who are friendly, welcoming and dedicated to making the Games a success.

All of those who apply can list additional skills or expertise they may have, and around 25,000 will be chosen and invited for informal interviews from April onwards.
