A derby match between Campsie Minerva and Harestanes Amateurs was called off after vandals destroyed a goalpost.
The game was due to take place at Ferguson Park last Wednesday.
On Friday the damage was reported to East Dunbartonshire Council who quickly had the post replaced.
Unfortunately early on Saturday morning the Minerva committee were alerted to the fact that the vandals had returned and damaged the goalposts for a second time in just a few days.
TThe vandalism has been reported to Police Scotland who are investigating.
Thankfully Minerva were able to carry out a temporary repair allowing Saturday’s game to go ahead.
Minerva’s secretary Wilson McMillan said: “There was huge disappointment the game against Harestanes didn’t take place as these are normally excellent games.
“We were pleased EDC acted so quickly to have the upright replaced but couldn’t believe it when on Saturday morning the goal post had been damaged again,
“Sadly Campsie Boys Club couldn’t play on the pitch on Saturday morning but the club eventually managed to get the posts in order to allow our game to go ahead. The matter has been reported to the police. ‘
