Runners, joggers and walkers of all ages are being urged to pull on their trainers and go the extra mile to raise funds for Sport Relief at Mugdock Country Park.
The Mugdock Mile takes place on Sunday, March 23, and families, fun runners and fundraisers are being asked to sign up.
Participants can choose to run or walk one mile (setting off at 11.45am), three miles or six miles (both setting off at 11.30am) around Mugdock Country Park.
There will also be a host of activities happening as part of the event, including live music and a bouncy castle, as well as refreshments at Charlie’s Theatre and Cafe Bar, the Stables Tea Room and the shop.
Hundreds of people walked, ran and jogged through the woodland at the first-ever Sport Relief Mile to be held locally in 2012 - helping to raise thousands of pounds for terrific causes.
Country park chairman Councillor Eric Gotts said: “The first Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile in Mugdock was a fantastic success and I’m sure this year’s event will be equally popular with everyone - from youngsters with their mums and dads to super sprinters up against the clock.
“Getting people active is one of East Dunbartonshire Council’s priorities, along with our partners, and what better way to do that than in the beautiful surrounds of Mugdock Country Park?
“As one of the UK’s biggest fundraising events, Sport Relief brings the entire nation together to get active, raise cash and change lives - so it’s time to dust off those trainers and enter right now.”
