UFO is captured on camera over Bearsden!
THE truth is out there — after a string of UFO sightings above Milngavie and Bearsden, one of which was captured on video and can be seen by clicking the icon here.
David McKechnie saw this mysterious light show in the Westerton area of Bearsden at around 8.10pm on Bonfire Night.
He said: "I was outside waiting to be picked up for football when I looked over to my right and saw a light moving in the sky.
"I thought it was a plane at first until it got closer and I noticed it wasn't flashing, made no noise and left no engine lines.
"The sky was clear so I got a very good view of this thing. It moved in a straight line before pulling off over to the right and started to move back the way it came from. The only noise I could hear was fireworks going off.
"I managed to get a 20 second video clip of it and in the video you can see no other lights near it with the only noise being heard was a few fireworks.
"I'm sure people will have a good explanation as always but I'm 99.9 per cent sure this was no plane and 100 per cent sure it was no firework or other object we know about."
Meanwhile, a Milngavie man has claimed he saw a UFO in the sky on Thursday, October 29 while he was in his garden.
He was stunned by the sight of nine massive orange lights moving across the sky over the Campsies in a straight line — all going in the same direction and then suddenly changing course.
The lights travelled across the sky in pairs along the same path in quick succession of each other and one light went alone.
The man, who asked not to be named, said: "I was out in the garden for a cigarette and couldn't believe what I was seeing. The lights were about a quarter of a mile behind each other with a yellow centre.
"They were very high and it definitely wasn't a plane."
He wasn't the only person who saw the strange lights that night. A Milngavie taxi driver also contacted the paper to report orange lights in the sky at about midnight.
He was in Homebase car park, Milngavie, when he saw them, and said: "It went on for about an hour. I phoned the police to tell them about it and Glasgow Airport and they investigated it but couldn't find out what it was.
"Someone said it could have been Chinese lanterns but surely they would have blown away?"
These sightings come after a story in our sister paper, The Kirkintilloch Herald, at the beginning of September which reported claims by a driver that his car was hit by a beam of yellow, green and blue light.
George Donnan (64) was driving with friends Alistair and Doreen McMillan approaching a roundabout on Glen Road, Lennoxtown when he says the light hit the car.
George said the beam appeared to be coming from the hillside and lasted around two minutes. He reported the incident, which happened at midnight on Thursday, September 10, to the police.
