The pupils and staff at Bearsden Academy paid tribute to their janitor, Davie Ferguson, who died suddenly .

Ferguson had been the janitor at the school for 14 years and was much loved by the children for his kind and considerate nature.

He also had a great love of flowers, tending the school’s garden.

As a fitting reminder headteacher John Sutherland said a fund had been set up to buy new plants for the school garden.

A plaque was also erected in the garden grounds to honour Mr Ferguson.

Paying tribute to him, Mr Sutherland, said: “Mr Ferguson is greatly missed by by everyone, especially the children of which he was very fond.”
