An attractive part-time model from Milngavie is hoping to raise at least £1,000 for kids suffering from leukaemia at Yorkhill Children’s Hospital.

Siobhan Scott (24), from Craigton Avenue, is competing in a beauty pageant at the end of this month for the title of Miss Scotland Caledonia in the Crown Plaza, Glasgow.

However, in the run up to the event she is trying to raise as much money as possible, with plans to train with a rugby team and climb a mountain.

The admin officer at an accountants firm in Glasgow, said: “All next week in the morning and evenings I am going to train with the GHK Lions Rugby team in Glasgow. I will be put through my passes and then later be a mascot at their game. I’m really grateful to them letting me collect money at their game.”

So far Siobhan (right) has raised around £200 but is confident she will reach her target before the end of the month.

She said: “I am also planning to raise money by going to the top of Buachaille Etive Mor, a munro in Glen Coe on the second weekend in March.”

Siobhan heard about the fundraising beauty pageant through a friend and is one of 20 finalists. The event has three sections, and each girl will be judged in swimwear, tartan and evening wear section.

If anyone wishes to donate, Siobhan has set up a just giving site at www.justgiving.com/siobhan-scott.
