Shock, horror and a bit of awe on its way to Bearsden
Mark Wright
A LITTLE bit of Hollywood glitz and glamour is coming to Bearsden and into the hands of film director, Mark Wright.
Mark (42) from Deepdene Road, Bearsden, who set up the company, Dark Form Productions, in 2006, is making a short horror/revenge thriller called ‘Reflections’ with camera equipment which was used to film epic movies such as Prometheus, The Hobbit, Hitchcock, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Amazing Spider-Man.
The Red Epic camera, loaned to him by Glasgow based company Futurist Dugital, was also the actual camera used to film The Fast and the Furious 6 and Outpost 3.
Mark, pictured right, said: “The Red Epic is pretty much the industry standard for Hollywood, and to have secured a camera actually used on set in such films is a real coup.
“We couldn’t have done it without the support of the guys at Futurist Digital, who will also be supporting our production with onset data management and Digital Imaging Technician (DIT) services.”
Futurist Digital is a boutique RED EPIC camera hire, DIT and on set post-production company based in Glasgow.
CEO Steve Johnson said: “By helping Dark Form Productions shoot on the RED EPIC in 5K definition, and managing the onset data, we are ensuring that the production is opened up to as many distribution models and platforms, not just now, but in the future.
“We are proud to be supporting Mark and his team on ‘Reflections’.”
They have also got an illustrator who worked on Judge Dredd working with them for this new film and the use of locations at Cameron House Hotel in Loch Lomond.
Dark Form Productions is crowdfunding the movie Reflections, attempting to raise £1,243 to fund filming and distribution of the film to global film festivals.
Mark successfully crowdfunded his third film, Innocent Violation, last year.
He has two more days left to reach his target.
