Paws for a break at Loch Lomond canine cafe

Dog owners and their four legged friends now have the chance to ‘paws’ for a while and enjoy a cuppa together next to Loch Lomond.

The DUG Cafe, a new eaterie and dog boutique, has opened upstairs in the Mall at Loch Lomond Shores.

A selection of cakes, sandwiches and soups are served every day as well as coffee and teas - and not to leave out the pampered pooches, the cafe offers gourmet dog biscuits, snacks and other doggy treats.

Laura Davies, owner of DUG Cafe, said: “This has long been a dream of mine and to finally open the doors of the cafe at Loch Lomond Shores is very exciting.

“We have only been open a couple of weeks but already we have received a huge number of visitors, mainly dog owners from the local area but also from further afield.

“The feedback has been incredibly positive and everyone who has come has said how much they have enjoyed it. Customers are delighted that they can finally enjoy a coffee and a snack in relaxing surroundings with their dog.

Clare Gemmell, Loch Lomond Shores Manager, said: “I am delighted to welcome DUG Cafe to the Mall in Loch Lomond Shores. We have a lot of dog walkers and dog owners visiting the complex and what Laura offers is totally unique. While it caters for visitors with dogs, everyone is welcome.

“It’s an incredibly warm and welcoming cafe, and with their delicious menu and spectacular view of Loch Lomond, it’s not to be missed when visiting Loch Lomond Shores”.
