Party-on for charity

KINDHEARTED resident in the district are being invited to fight the January blues and look out their glad rags for an upcoming glitzy fundraising ball which will help support some of the most vulnerable members of the community.

Deafblind Scotland will host its “Field of Dreams” Gala Ball in Glasgow’s Thistle Hotel on Friday 15 March with all proceeds going towards building a new training and resource centre in East Dunbartonshire for the deafblind community.

In December Milngavie and Bearsden runners and walkers turned out in their droves to the first ever Deafblind Scotland Santa Dash in Mugdock Country Park and helped raise a fantastic £10,000 for the charity.

The centre, which will be built in Lenzie, East Dunbartonshire is likely to cost over £1.2 million and will be a resource to the 800 members the charity supports across Scotland.

Ticket for the gala ball are £70 each or £650 for a table of 10 which include a sparkling wine reception, three course meal and much more. To find out more contact 0141 777 5823 or email events@deafblindscotland.org.uk or drena@deafblindscotland.org.uk.
